And it doesn't seem as if the idea of practicality carries much weight even with the rich and famous in this world: check out the recent visit of Suri Cruise when she went to spend a day with Posh Spice's boys - I love to see little girls in pretty dresses with matching accessories but it surely doesn't fit the bill for a boys "play day"!
As a former preschool owner I was constantly amazed at the parental choices of outlet lululemon clothes. Just like many other preschools, I had a play area for outdoor activities that included a climbing frame, a swing and bikes and children were encouraged to make full use of these. But some of the girls were restricted and put at risk by the long dresses and inappropriate footwear that their parents insisted on.
When lululemon clothing can be stepped on causing the child to slip and fall. Sliding down the slide the skirt of the dress can get caught which could lead to a nasty accident. And when riding a bike the dress could get caught in the wheels causing the child to fall off the bike and hurt herself.
But it goes far beyond preschool. Even if they are not quite so fancy or fashionable, lulu wunder under pants such as shorts or pants are far more suitable for that trip to the park or the fairground inflatable ride or even your Disney World exploration. All of these include physical activities such as running, jumping and climbing - and in this age of equality, doesn't everyone agree that girls get just as much out of this type of fun as boys do.
